I am so tired – it’s very late – but I want to to put down on file my feelings about the From Mother To Daughter performance anyway. It’s gone down brilliantly – standing ovation, people dancing, people in tears, for God’s sake, loads of compliments, we have been – again – the best selling artist of the festival. The mondine were a force of nature: they sang well, they danced, everybody fell in love with them. I always thought them to be a group of international standing, and at this festival they stood up and sang in the same lineup as the Neville Brothers, Hugh Masekela, Black 47, and proved they are no less great artists than these stars of world music. I am so proud o f them, and more than a little proud of us too. In the next few days I’ll post a complete report: for now I am content with the pride, the fulfilment, the weariness. I’d do it all over again, right now.
W le Monde ! Sempre.
Ma che bello…
Non dimentichero`mai questo concerto meraviglioso!
A Fiamma Fumana e Coro Mondine…BRAVI
Grazie per i vostri regali a Detroit.
I am a friend of Dave Shelly who was the production manager of the Concert of Colors. When I went to pick Dave up at the airport on Thursday, he encouraged me to attend your concert. I had no idea how moved I would be by your performance on Friday, that I would return again on Saturday. . .and brought my aunt from Lorenzago di Cadore who lives in Michigan now, and her friend from Milano. These women are both in their late 60’s, and openly WEPT at the performance of the Modine. Propio una cosa bellissima. When I am next in Italia, I hope to see them perform again. Grazie MILLE!
